Brandon Drury Expected To Be Called Up By Yankees On Friday
6 years agoAfter absolutely raking in Triple-A, it would seem that the New York Yankees cannot deny Brandon Drury any longer. The team is expected to call up the versatile Drury on Friday, just in time for the start of their series with the Boston Red Sox. While down in the minors, Drury has batted .314 with five home runs and 29 runs batted in. He was originally sent down after landing on the disabled list with migraines. Unfortunately, on the stacked Yankees lineup, playing time is a luxury. The Yankees infield is chock-full of young, productive players, so it will be interesting to see how Drury's playing time — if indeed he is called up and locked into the starting lineup — is split. That said, he should be left on the waiver wire until his role on the team is fleshed out.
