Brandon Crawford Exits Early With Hamstring Tightness
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford (hamstring) exited Saturday's game against the Rockies with left hamstring tightness. He sustained the injury while running to first base during the sixth inning. The 36-year-old went 0-for-3 before leaving. According to Giants manager Gabe Kapler, the injury doesn't appear to be severe, and Crawford will likely be held out of Sunday's game with the All-Star break coming up on Monday. Crawford will have a few extra days to rest and is considered day-to-day. Casey Schmitt is expected to start at shortstop Sunday, with Crawford likely out. Schmitt is slashing .231/.287/.594 with two home runs, 21 RBI, 17 runs, and two stolen bases over 49 games in 2023.
