Brandon Aiyuk Leads 49ers In Receiving During Final Preseason Game
1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk hauled in one of three targets for 35 yards in the 49ers' 23-12 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday. On a night in which nine 49ers had at least one reception and none had more than two, Aiyuk's lone catch and run was good enough to lead his team in receiving yards. The fourth-year pro nearly scored on the play but was dragged down on the one-yard line after easily running around his defender and streaking down the sideline. He would have had more on his stat line but dropped a pass in the first quarter immediately after he negated a nice San Francisco running play with a holding penalty. In 2022, Aiyuk set career-highs with 78 receptions for 1,015 yards and eight touchdowns. He is currently being drafted as a WR2/3, mostly because of the numerous mouths to feed in San Francisco's talented offensive attack.
