Brandon Aiyuk A Solid WR1 Coming Off Bye
1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk heads to Duval on Sunday to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. In Week 8, Aiyuk picked up 109 yards receiving on five receptions and nine targets. Jacksonville's defense has been excellent overall by DVOA, ranking third in the NFL. However, they are tied for the 10th-most fantasy points allowed to wide receivers thus far. The Jaguars play zone coverage on nearly 70% of their defensive snaps and conventional wisdom says that Aiyuk could struggle to get open, having done most of his damage against man coverage. In addition, Deebo Samuel (shoulder) is expected to play, perhaps taking targets that would have gone to Aiyuk. In spite of all that, Aiyuk remains San Francisco's top receiving option in fantasy and checks in this week as a mid-level WR1, getting a boost with a few top-12 options on a bye.
