Brady Singer A Tough-Luck Loser On Sunday
4 years agoKansas City Royals rookie starting pitcher Brady Singer had his longest outing of the year on Sunday and performed adequately well, but his offense failed to support him as he was tagged with a loss. The Royals fell 4-2 to the Minnesota Twins as Singer pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing four hits, four walks and three earned runs while striking out two. Not only was this game Singer's longest outing of the year, but he reached 100 pitches in the game for the first time, which is a sign that his leash has gotten longer. While Singer's 4.56 ERA and 1.32 WHIP certainly aren't fantastic, he's had a tough slate of opponents so far this year, facing the Twins twice and the Cubs once. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on Singer going forward as a potential back-end rotation option, though his next outing will again be against the Twins on Saturday.
