Braden Holtby Starts Season For Dallas
3 years agoDallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby will guard the crease as the team opens the season on Thursday against the Rangers. The 2018 Stanley Cup champion signed a one-year deal with the club in July to provide some goalie depth with Ben Bishop's status uncertain due to knee surgery, and it looks like he's impressed the coaching staff enough to jump ahead of Anton Khudobin in the pecking order, at least for the season opener. Holtby had a very ugly year as a member of the Vancouver Canucks last season, posting only seven wins and finishing with a miserable 3.67 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage. It will be interesting to see if he can turn things around in Texas.
