Washington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby was scored on twice by Tampa Bay’s power play, from either side of his crease. The first goal of the game was on the ensuing power play of a tripping penalty Holtby took in the first period. The Lightning were able to capitalize on back-to-back power plays, feeding their snipers Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov respectively for one-timer goals over the shoulder of Holtby. The Capitals were in a hole early in this game, and were forced to chase play, as opposed to drive it as they had in Games 1 and 2. Game 3, when stacked up against the rest of Holtby’s performances appears to be an anomaly. It was the first time this postseason he’s allowed more than three goals, and the first time he’s posted a save percentage lower than .860. DFS owners should feel comfortable starting him, with the expectation that he bounces back well in Game 4 at home.--Kevin Acorn
