6 years agoBoston Bruins forward Brad Marchand buried a pair of goals and added a helper in his team's 4-3 defeat of the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday night. After having registered just three points in his previous ten contests, Marchand has posted a multi-point effort in each of his last three games (three goals, five assists). With his standard linemate Patrice Bergeron out for an extended period of time due to injury, Marchand was struggling to generate offense but has recently benefited from David Krejci's promotion to the Bruins' top line. The 30-year-old will enter his next game against the Penguins on Friday with 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists), 74 penalty minutes, 13 power-play points and 90 shots through 31 games.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

1 week agoThe Florida Panthers have acquired veteran winger Brad Marchand (upper body) in a trade with the Boston Bruins, who received a 2027 second-round pick that will turn into a 2028 first-round pick if certain conditions are met. Marchand, who turns 37 in May, moves on as a pending unrestricted free agent. He has so far spent his entire career in Boston, becoming the Bruins' captain in 2023. This season, Marchand has recorded 21 goals and 47 points in 61 games. He is currently nursing an upper-body injury, so it will take some time before we see him in a Panthers uniform. Marchand will remain a top-six piece in Florida, effectively replacing Matthew Tkachuk (groin), who has been ruled out for the rest of the regular season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBoston Bruins left wing Brad Marchand (upper body) has been labeled week-to-week by interim head coach Joe Sacco. The Bruins captain will miss a second consecutive game on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators, and the team must continue its playoff push without him for some time. Marchand has stayed productive in his 16th year in the NHL, scoring 21 goals and 47 points in 61 games. Boston promoted Georgii Merkulov to the second line after Marchand was injured last week. The 24-year-old has notched one assist with six shots on goal in five games this season. This marks his only point in nine career appearances.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBoston Bruins left wing Brad Marchand suffered an upper-body injury during Saturday's clash against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He exited the action after absorbing a hit from Penguins defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph. Marchand was limited to only three shifts and 2:18 of ice time in the game. The Bruins captain had a slow start to the year but has put together another fine season, scoring 21 goals and 47 points in 61 games. Boston returns to action on Sunday against the Minnesota Wild, with Marchand at risk of missing his first game of the season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoBoston Bruins left wing Brad Marchand recorded his second multi-goal effort of the season on Wednesday, lighting the lamp twice in a 4-2 road victory at Chicago. The veteran forward did the damage early in the second period, with Marchand's second goal of the contest ending up as the game-winner. Marchand remains among Boston's biggest offensive threats, but the 2024-25 campaign might end up being his first in 10 years with fewer than 60 points. He's on 10 goals and 10 assists through 28 games. The 36-year-old is also playing a less physical game, averaging fewer than one hit for the first time in five seasons.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
