Brad Hand Allows a Run But Still Earns a Save on Friday
5 years agoCleveland Indians closer Brad Hand earned his 21st save on Friday despite allowing a run. He pitched an inning, allowing a run on two hits. The run caused Hand's ERA to finally go over 1, as it's now at 1.11. He's holding opposing hitters to a .155 batting average and is one of the best closers in the American League. There are a few rumors swirling that Hand may be traded at the deadline, but he has done well enough that he'll almost certainly retain the ninth inning for any team he pitches for.
