7 years agoArizona Diamondbacks reliever Brad Boxberger has officially been named the closer by manager Torey Lovullo. The announcement ends a three-man competition between Boxberger, Archie Bradley and Yoshihisa Hirano. Boxberger last closed for the Rays in 2015, notching 41 saves in 69 games. With the D'Backs looking like a playoff team again, Boxberger will have plenty of opportunity to rack up saves. He now presents excellent late-round value for owners who like to wait for saves. Bradley is a solid handcuff, though, and he's expected to post a much better strikeout rate than Boxberger.--Jonathan Chan - Rotoballer
