Boston's Top Three Prospects Homer In First Spring Breakout Game
23 mins agoAll three of the Red Sox's top prospects homered in the first game of this year's Spring Breakout series, but they ultimately fell to the Tampa Bay Rays' prospects 7-5. Roman Anthony (1-for-3), Kristian Campbell (1-for-3), and Marcelo Mayer (1-for-3) all hit one home run during the contest, further solidifying their status among the club's best prospects. All three have an ETA of 2025 according to MLB.com's Top Prospects list, but Campbell appears to be the closest to earning a spot on the big league roster after his meteoric rise last season. At first it was thought he'd man second base and the recently acquired Alex Bregman would hold down third base while Rafael Devers would transition to DH, but lately Campbell has been getting practice in left field. It seems the Red Sox are trying a couple of different avenues to get Campbell's bat into the lineup, potentially by Opening Day. All three should be rostered already in dynasty, but Campbell makes for a solid late-round flier in most 2025 season-long fantasy drafts who could be a multi-category contributor from the outset with his power-speed combo. Last season across the levels of the minors, the 22-year-old belted 20 home runs and stole 24 bags while maintaining a 14.3 percent walk rate.
