Bobby Witt Jr. Taking Sunday Off
1 year agoKansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies. It's a normal day of rest for Witt, who started the team's last 14 games. In his absence, Maikel Garcia will play shortstop and hit leadoff for KC against Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker. Matt Duffy is at third base and hitting eighth in the lineup. Witt is an absolute must-start in all fantasy leagues when he's on the field, as he's hitting .268 (120-for-447) on the year with 20 home runs, 67 RBI, 32 stolen bases and 59 runs scored in 110 games in just his second big-league campaign. The young shortstop is also off to a great start in five games in August, going 8-for-21 with two homers, a double, seven RBI, three steals and four runs scored in 23 plate appearances.
