Bobby Witt Jr. Getting A Breather
1 year agoKansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is taking a day off on Thursday against the visiting Detroit Tigers. Maikel Garcia will get the nod at shortstop instead and will bat in the leadoff spot against Tigers right-hander Michael Lorenzen. Nicky Lopez will also enter the lineup and play third base. Witt has gone hitless in his last 13 at-bats over three games, so it's a good time to give him a little breather. Overall, though, the second-year shortstop remains a must-start for fantasy managers. He's currently hitting .251/.292/.447 with 16 home runs, 16 doubles, six triples, 51 RBI, 27 stolen bases and 50 runs scored in 416 plate appearances over 96 games for the Royals.
