4 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. hit a monster of a home run in Monday's spring training game against the Oakland Athletics. It was a fourth inning two-run home run off Yusmeiro Petit that was measured at 484 feet. The 20-year-old Witt, who is the Royals' top prospect, is having a great spring. This was his second home run in three days. He's slashing .353/.389/.706 so far this spring. He seemed like a long shot to make the team's opening day roster going into camp, but his stellar play might make the organization think twice. It's still probably unlikely that he'll begin the season in the big leagues, but a call-up sometime this year is certainly within reason.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
