Bobby Poyner Finishes Inning Of Rehab Thursday
7 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Bobby Poyner (hamstring) pitched an inning of rehab for the Portland Sea Dogs, according to Kevin Thomas of the Portland Press Herald. He allowed one hit and struck out one. Marcus Walden was called up from Triple-A when Poyner went on the disabled list and will likely be the choice to head back down. Walden has been ineffective in his stint with a 4.09 ERA, allowing five earned runs, but he did strike out 10 batters. There is no determination on when Poyner will be activated from the disabled list. He had a 2.57 ERA and a great 24.1 K/BB prior to getting injured.
