Bobby Miller Avoids Serious Injury
32 seconds agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Bobby Miller (head) didn't sustain any fractures when he was hit in the head by a line drive in the team's Cactus League opener on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. Miller came into camp on Friday with a headache and is officially in the league's concussion protocol, but it sounds as though he avoided a significant injury. Roberts also added that the Dodgers are hoping the 25-year-old will be able to throw soon. It's great news after a very scary situation on Thursday. Miller looked good in his rookie season in 2023 but then had a disastrous follow-up in 2024, posting an 8.52 ERA (6.97 FIP) and 1.77 WHIP with 52 strikeouts and 30 walks in 56 innings over 13 innings before being shipped to the minors. He gave up a lot of hard contact, and it's a good bet he'll open the 2025 season on the farm.
