3 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Bobby Dalbec is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Taijuan Walker and the New York Mets. Kyle Schwarber is manning first base for the game. Dalbec has been raking for nearly two months now. He slashed .339/.431/.774 with seven home runs and 21 RBI in August. Through 16 games in September, we've seen more of the same from him as he's slashed .304/.391/.696 with five home runs and 15 RBI. He has gaudy underlying power metrics, including a 19.5% barrel rate that ranks in the 98th percentile and a 92.3 mph average exit velocity that ranks in the 90th percentile. Strikeouts are still of course a problem (33.8% strikeout rate), but he's a great source of power when he's seeing regular playing time like he is right now.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
