Blue Jays Showing Interest In Dylan Carlson
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson is being eyed by the Toronto Blue Jays as the club looks to add a bat to their lineup ahead of the 2024 season. Carlson joins Jorge Soler and Eugenio Suarez as names being tied to the Blue Jays so far this offseason while the Cardinals could very well use their glut of outfielders as trade chips to improve their beleaguered pitching staff. It was a down season for the 25-year-old in 2023 as Carlson hit just .219 with five home runs and three stolen bases in an injury-plagued 76 games while he finished the season on the 60-day injured list due to an ankle injury. He showed early promise, however, hitting .266 with 18 homers and a pair of steals in 149 games as a 22-year-old rookie in the 2021 campaign and has a roughly league-average bat in his first 388 career contests, as per his career 99 wRC+.
