Blue Jays Sign Chad Green
2 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly signed free-agent relief pitcher Chad Green to a multi-year deal, per a tweet from The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal on Tuesday. Rosenthal tweeted the following: "Source confirms: Free-agent reliever Chad Green to Blue Jays on 2-year, $8.5M deal. Second year is conditional player option that Green can exercise if Jays decline 3-year club option. If both decline, Jays get 2-year club option at higher AAV. First: @MarinoMLB, @ShiDavidi." Green appeared in 14 games for the New York Yankees this past season, pitching to a 3.00 ERA, a 2.85 FIP, 16 strikeouts, and five walks in 15 innings of work, logging a save, three holds, and a pitcher win in the process. He previously underwent Tommy John surgery early this past summer. For his career, the 31-year-old has logged a 3.17 ERA, a 3.37 FIP, 494 strikeouts, and 96 walks in 383.2 Major League innings to go along with 11 saves and 52 holds.
