Blue Jays Place Matt Gage On Unconditional Release Waivers
2 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly placed relief pitcher Matt Gage on unconditional release waivers, according to a tweet from Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling on Monday. Gage made his Major League debut this past season for Toronto, pitching to a 1.38 ERA and a 3.88 FIP in 13 innings of work spread over 11 appearances. Gage previously logged a 2.34 ERA, 2.78 FIP, and 12 saves in 42.1 innings for Toronto's Triple-A club this past season. The Blue Jays' current late-inning relief options include closer Jordan Romano, Erik Swanson, Tim Mayza, Yimi Garcia, Anthony Bass, Trevor Richards, Adam Cimber, and Zach Pop.
