Blue Jays Acquiring Jeremy Beasley From Diamondbacks
4 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays are acquiring right-handed pitcher Jeremy Beasley from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday, according to a source. The 25-year-old was designated for assignment earlier this week and will report to Toronto's alternate site to provide depth with a fastball-splitter combination that plays as a starter or a reliever. Beasley was a 30th-round pick out of Clemson back in 2017 by the Los Angeles Angels. He allowed two hits with a strikeout in one-third of an inning in his only major league appearance last year. Beasley had a 9.00 ERA in three innings pitched in spring training this season for the Snakes. With Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Salt Lake in 2019, he had a 4.49 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 115 strikeouts and 48 walks in 122 1/3 innings over 26 appearances (25 starts).
