Blake Treinen Records Four Out Save
6 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Blake Treinen recorded the final four outs in Cleveland Monday night to earn his eighth save of the season. Treinen came into the game with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth and induced a groundout to preserve a one-run lead. The offense provided Treinen with insurance in the top of the ninth which was needed as Treinen gave up a two-out solo home run to Francisco Lindor in the bottom of the inning. In a season where more teams are going closer-by-committee Treinen has been a rock for the A's and fantasy owners. He hasn't been as dominant as last season's 31.8 strikeout rate but he's still been the only player to record a save for the A's and is one of only a handful of relievers with a python-like grip on a closer job.
