Boston Red Sox catcher Blake Swihart will get work at positions other than catcher, according to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe. The Red Sox continue to try to find ways to get Swihart's bat into the lineup. This will prove tough since the lineup is stacked with offensive contributors. The current plan is for Swihart to get work at first base and outfield in addition to catcher. There is no opening as a starter, so Swihart will be relegated to a backup bat. With the signing of infielder Eduardo Nunez, second and third base are eliminated as options. Swihart continues to wait in the wings for opportunities.
