Blake Snell Reinstated, Set To Start On Wednesday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Blake Snell (groin) has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list. He will make his season debut on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Left-handed pitcher Ray Kerr was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Snell had an up-and-down first season with the Padres in 2021. He made 27 starts and went 7-6 with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. He was suffering from groin soreness during the opening week of the year and was unable to make his first scheduled start, landing on the injured list instead. He made three rehab starts over the past few weeks and pitched to a 2.77 ERA and 0.85 WHIP over 13 innings while recording 19 strikeouts.
