Blake Snell Progressing To Live Batting Practice Tuesday
6 months agoSan Francisco Giants left-hander Blake Snell (groin) had a successful bullpen session over the weekend and will now throw three innings to live hitters in a batting practice session on Tuesday, according to manager Bob Melvin. Snell's next steps after that are to be determined. The reigning National League Cy Young winner is eligible to come off the injured list on Wednesday, but it remains to be seen if the 31-year-old southpaw will be back with the Giants by then after missing more than two weeks with a Grade 2 groin strain. We'd bet on Snell going on a minor-league rehab assignment first after surrendering 15 earned runs in 11 2/3 innings over his first three starts before getting hurt. Despite the injury and rough start, Snell needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats for his high-strikeout upside.
