Blake Snell Posts 6.84 ERA Over Six Starts In May
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Blake Snell had a rough go of it in May. He made six starts and only once pitched past five innings in a start. He posted a 6.84 ERA across the month and closed out May with his two worst starts, allowing a combined 10 hits, six walks and 12 earned runs over 6.2 innings. Snell has a solid 32.1% strikeout rate on the year, but his 14.2% walk rate is a career-worst clip. He's also allowing a career-high 11.2% barrel rate. Even though things are ugly now, fantasy managers should remain patient and hold onto him. His track record, his promising strikeouts this year and the support of the Padres offense are enough to warrant patience. His next start will be on Saturday against the New York Mets.
