Blake Parker Picks Up Seventh Save
6 years agoMinnesota Twins closer Blake Parker pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings to nail down his seventh save in a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Parker struck out one batter and had to work around three baserunners to get the save. The Twins have dabbled with a closer by committee approach this season, but Parker has been the team's preferred ninth-inning option. He has been excellent in the role, posting a 0-1 record, seven saves, 1.20 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 15 innings of work. With the Twins playing well, Parker should start to see his save chances increase as the season wears on.
