Blake Parker Earns Eighth Save
6 years agoMinnesota Twins closer Blake Parker pitched a scoreless ninth to lock down a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. Parker worked around one hit in the frame on the way to earning his eighth save in eight chances this year. Overall, Parker has a 1.10 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings of work this season. He occasionally loses a save chance to lefty Taylor Rogers, but Parker continues to operate as the team's preferred ninth-inning option. His main issue this season has been the fact that the high-powered Minnesota lineup hasn't played in many close games this season. Still, he remains a quality fantasy closer in all formats.
