Dallas Cowboys tight end Blake Jarwin is not a starting option in the majority of fantasy leagues for Week 8. The Cowboys will take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football and despite Jarwin's touchdown in Week 6 before the Cowboys bye week, he's still watched his season turn him into a backup depth piece at best. Dalton Schultz has completely taken over as the team's top tight end, and the return of Michael Gallup (calf) means the Cowboys will be returning to more three-wide sets, giving Jarwin even less time on the field. He should not even be rostered in most leagues at this time.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller

Dallas Cowboys tight end Blake Jarwin (hip) underwent hip surgery in February that is expected to keep him sidelined to begin the 2022 year, per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. Jarwin's hip issue is "considered very uncommon for an active NFL player," which certainly doesn't sound as if it portends well to the tight end's availability and productivity in any capacity next year. Dalton Schultz is slated to become a free agent in the coming weeks, with his appeal to the Cowboys seemingly growing significantly if Jarwin is unavailable. The 27-year-old appeared in eight games (five starts) last year, having hauled in 11 receptions for 96 yards and two touchdowns. While Jarwin doesn't jump off the page as a fantasy relevant commodity, his future figures to factor into Dallas' tight end plans one way or the other.--Jesse Borek

Dallas Cowboys tight end Blake Jarwin (hip) is expected to be available for Saturday's regular-season finale against the Eagles, marking his first game action since Week 8. Jarwin is set to serve as Dallas' second tight end behind Dalton Schultz, who remains Dak Prescott's primary pass-catching target from the position. With that said, Jarwin has snagged two touchdowns this year, potentially serving as a Schultz foil in the red zone for those targeting the TE in DFS lineups. Even when fully healthy, Jarwin has yet to exceed 57 percent of the Cowboys' offensive snaps in any game this season, so fantasy managers shouldn't anticipate a whopping workload as the team gears up for the playoffs.--Jesse Borek

The Dallas Cowboys designated tight end Blake Jarwin (hip) for return from Injured Reserve, and he'll return to practice on Tuesday as head coach Mike McCarthy had hoped. There's a chance that the Cowboys could officially activate Jarwin from IR before the Week 18 regular season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday. However, the main goal is to have Jarwin fully healthy for the playoffs, so the Cowboys aren't going to rush him back this weekend if he's not ready. Dalton Schultz is Dallas' primary pass-catching threat at the position, but Jarwin gives quarterback Dak Prescott another weapon in the passing game. Jarwin has 10 catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns on 15 targets over five games. He's unlikely to be much of a fantasy asset in the postseason.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Dallas Cowboys activated tight end Blake Jarwin from the reserve/COVID-19 list and moved him back to injured reserve on Tuesday. Jarwin was placed on an injured reserve after suffering a severe hip injury in Week 8. He was moved from the injured reserve to the reserve/COVID-19 list on November 26th and reverted to IR on Tuesday. Since suffering the injury, the 27-year-old has yet to practice, and it's unclear when the Cowboys' tight end will return to action. Jarwin has caught 10 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns over seven games. Dalton Schultz is the Cowboys' top-pass catching tight end and will remain in that role while Jarwin is sidelined.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
