Blake Jarwin Undergoes Hip Surgery, 2022 Availability In Doubt
3 years agoDallas Cowboys tight end Blake Jarwin (hip) underwent hip surgery in February that is expected to keep him sidelined to begin the 2022 year, per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. Jarwin's hip issue is "considered very uncommon for an active NFL player," which certainly doesn't sound as if it portends well to the tight end's availability and productivity in any capacity next year. Dalton Schultz is slated to become a free agent in the coming weeks, with his appeal to the Cowboys seemingly growing significantly if Jarwin is unavailable. The 27-year-old appeared in eight games (five starts) last year, having hauled in 11 receptions for 96 yards and two touchdowns. While Jarwin doesn't jump off the page as a fantasy relevant commodity, his future figures to factor into Dallas' tight end plans one way or the other.
