Blake Bell Undergoes Hip Surgery
2 years agoIt was announced Tuesday that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Blake Bell (hip) had undergone surgery to repair a hip flexor issue, which will keep him sidelined for an extended period of time. Bell was set to serve as the complement at tight end for All-Pro Travis Kelce, but that role will likely slide to Noah Gray after a waiver claim on Kendall Blanton went for naught. Bell appeared in 16 games (five starts) last season for K.C., compiling nine catches for 87 yards and adding 10 yards on the ground. Utilized primarily for his blocking ability, the 31-year-old wasn't on any fantasy radars coming into the year. The Chiefs open the regular season on Sept. 11 against the Cardinals.
