Bismack Biyombo Notches Third Straight Double-Double
7 years agoOrlando Magic center Bismack Biyombo tallied 13 points and 17 rebounds in a loss to Brooklyn on Monday. Biyombo has made the most of his starting role with Nikola Vucevic (hand) out for the next six or more weeks. His 13 points and 17 rebounds were season highs, and he has been averaging 11.6 points and 13.3 rebounds in his last three games along with 2.6 blocks. If you were able to pick him up when Vucevic went down, kudos to you, as it seems you can expect more of the same from Biyombo moving forward. Playing only 28 minutes Monday marked his lowest minutes total since becoming a starter, yet it also was his highest output. Biyombo will be expected to be a consistent producer until Vucevic's return.

Bismack Biyombo Rejoins Suns For 2022-23 Season
3 years agoCenter Bismack Biyombo is returning to the Suns for the upcoming 2022-23 year, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. After the departure of JaVale McGee in free agency, Phoenix was able to retain Biyombo's services after he appeared in 36 games for the team last season. While he was used sparingly as a reserve, the 29-year-old averaged 12 points and 9.7 rebounds across his three starts. Biyombo's role will largely be determined by whether Phoenix is able to retain center Deandre Ayton, a restricted free agent; a departure from the youngster could pave the way for Biyombo to garner season-long appeal early in the season, with the newly acquired Jock Landale also in competition for frontcourt minutes.
