Billy McKinney Exits Early With Injury, Placed On DL
7 years agoThe injury woes continue to pile for the New York Yankees early on in this 2018 season. Entering the season with Clint Frazier and Jacoby Ellsbury already injured, they lost Aaron Hicks after opening day, with Billy McKinney being promoted. McKinney, 23, suffered a left shoulder strain today after crashing into the outfield wall in the first inning of the defeat. While ensuing x-rays were negative, the club announced they would place him on the 10-day disabled list. Miguel Andujar, the third baseman who had a strong spring training will be promoted to fill the open roster spot. The Yankees currently feature only three outfielders on the roster until at least Thursday, when Jacoby Ellsbury may return from the DL.
