Billy Horschel Should Not Be Considered at East Lake
3 years agoDespite an incredibly impressive resume at East Lake that includes a win in 2014 and a second-place finish in 2018, Billy Horschel's recent form leaves a lot to be desired. Horschel is coming off a 52nd-place finish at the BMW Championship where he lost 1.4 strokes off the tee and four strokes on approach. His ball-striking just simply isn't there at the moment. Over his last 36 rounds, the University of Florida product ranks 24th in strokes gained off the tee, 29th in strokes gained approach, 28th in greens in regulation gained, and 27th in bogey avoidance, out of 30 players in this field. I have a difficult time trusting a player that has not recorded a stroke play top-ten since February, and has shown no signs statistically of that changing any time soon.
