Billy Hamilton Hitless In Royals Debut
6 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Billy Hamilton picked up right where he left off with the Reds by going hitless in his first game in the American League. Hamilton is arguably the fastest player in baseball, he makes some outstanding highlight-worthy plays in the outfield, he can steal gold from Fort Knox, and he can't figure out how to get to first base nearly often enough. Hamilton has only posted an on-base percentage above .300 once in his career, he's cracked a .260 batting average once, and he stole 25 less bases in 2018 than he did in 2017. He's pretty much a known commodity at this point, and the good news is that it looks like when he does get on, KC's willing to let him run wild. Unfortunately, no one is a bigger epitome of the phrase, "You can't steal first base."
