Bills Sign Matt Barkley Monday
3 years agoThe Buffalo Bills signed free-agent quarterback Matt Barkley to an undisclosed one-year deal on Monday. Barkley was with the Carolina Panthers last year before joining the Atlanta Falcons practice squad in early January. The 31-year-old played for the Bills from 2018-20, playing in eight games (one start) and throwing for 788 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. The Bills recently traded for Case Keenum to be Josh Allen's backup in 2022, so Barkley will presumably serve as Buffalo's No. 3 QB this year. Barkley was initially a fourth-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013 out of USC, and he's started only seven of his 19 career games in six NFL seasons.
