Lonzo Ball Puts Up All-Around Gem
6 years agoLos Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball was absolutely phenomenal in a win against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. Ball not only held his own against Jamal Murray, but also notched a typical "Jason Kidd” line with 12 points, six boards, and eight assists. He had a game-high five steals(!) and hit two 3-pointers as well, proving he will flirt with elite value as long as he’s getting minutes. If you got him at a slight discount on draft day like I did, you should feel very good about his outlook, as the Lakers will do everything possible to groom him as one of the key cornerstones of the franchise. It’ll be interesting to see when Rajon Rondo (suspension) returns on Saturday, and I’ll be surprised if Ball didn’t run away with the starting job with this type of performance. Coach Luke Walton raved about Ball's impact on the defensive end with his size and length, so the Lakers would be foolish to not keep him in the starting lineup. The Big Baller phenom shouldn’t be relied about to provide points, but will give you across the board stats like he demonstrated tonight.
