Benny Snell Jr. Waived By The Lions
1 year agoDetroit Lions running back Benny Snell Jr. was released by the team as they got their roster down to 53 men on Tuesday. The former Kentucky Wildcat spent the last four seasons with the Steelers, where he compiled 982 rushing yards on 275 carries (3.6 yards per carry) and seven touchdowns, mostly in a backup role. He'll try to latch on with another team or be signed to Detroit's practice squad ahead of the regular season. The Lions will roll with David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, and fullback Jason Cabinda heading into the season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, Sept. 7.
