Washington Commanders first-round rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes will be a starting outside corner opposite Kendall Fuller in 2023. Benjamin St-Juste becomes an option for the slot after he opened the year there in 2022 before William Jackson's struggles forced him to move outside. St-Juste now feels comfortable in either spot, and his size gives coaches a matchup plan against big receivers and tight ends. However, second-round rookie safety Quan Martin was drafted specifically for the slot role, and he has "incredible flexibility" because of his ability to play closer to the line of scrimmage.
