Ben Zobrist Continuing Minor League Rehab Assignment
5 years agoChicago Cubs utility man Ben Zobrist will resume his minor league rehab assignment with the Class A Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He will play three games with the team starting on Thursday, just as he did last week with the Class A South Bend Cubs. Zobrist hasn't played with the Chicago Cubs since May 6, when he left the team due to personal matters. Assuming his rehab continues to go well, he could be back with the Cubs by September. The 38-year-old veteran was hitting .241/.343/.253 with no homers and 10 RBI in his 83 at-bats earlier this year. There's no guarantee Zobrist will see regular playing time if/when he returns, and only those in NL-only leagues should initially consider adding him.
