Beau Brieske To Make His MLB Debut Saturday
3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers announced on Thursday that 24-year-old right-hander Beau Brieske would be called up from Triple-A to make his MLB debut on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies. He will be filling in for fellow right-hander Matt Manning (shoulder), who was placed on the injured list on Wednesday. Brieske is ranked as the team's No. 22 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline. Last year, across 21 starts split between High-A and Double-A, he went 9-4 with a 3.12 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP while averaging 9.8 K/9. It's unclear how long Manning will be out at this point. There's a chance Brieske will only make one or two starts before heading back to Triple-A.
