Beau Brieske Closes Out Twins Thursday
1 year agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Beau Brieske recorded a two-inning save on Thursday, shutting down the Minnesota Twins in a 3-0 victory. Brieske didn't allow a baserunner and had no strikeouts. This is certainly an interesting development, as the Tigers' are in search of a ninth-inning option after Alex Lange's recent control issues got the better of him. Brieske has been great in a small sample size this year, pitching to a 2.08 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 13 IP. All that being said, Jason Foley has been the Tigers' eighth-inning guy this year and may have just been getting some extra rest after pitching two of the previous three days. Keep an eye on this situation in deeper leagues for now.
