1 year agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Beau Brieske recorded a two-inning save on Thursday, shutting down the Minnesota Twins in a 3-0 victory. Brieske didn't allow a baserunner and had no strikeouts. This is certainly an interesting development, as the Tigers' are in search of a ninth-inning option after Alex Lange's recent control issues got the better of him. Brieske has been great in a small sample size this year, pitching to a 2.08 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 13 IP. All that being said, Jason Foley has been the Tigers' eighth-inning guy this year and may have just been getting some extra rest after pitching two of the previous three days.
