Bears Talking With Teddy Bridgewater
5 years agoThe Chicago Bears are talking with New Orleans Saints impending free-agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Chicago is discussing $21 million per year for Bridgewater, which would suggest that he'd be installed as the starter over Mitch Trubisky. Bridgewater has started only six games since January of 2016, but he went 5-0 last year in place of an injured Drew Brees, and he'd likely be an upgrade over what Trubisky has shown in recent seasons. However, Chicago's offensive weapons aren't as explosive as New Orleans', which would make Bridgewater mostly a fantasy backup if he were to land with the Bears as their new starter. Trubisky's fantasy stock is obviously way down, even in dynasty leagues.
