Bears Signing Tashaun Gipson
5 years agoThe Chicago Bears are signing safety Tashaun Gipson to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday, according to a source. Gipson was cut by the Texans this week, a year after he was signed to a three-year, $22.5 million deal. He went on Injured Reserve late last season with a back injury after starting the first 14 games. The 29-year-old has 450 tackles, 23 interceptions and 47 passes defensed in his eight seasons in the NFL, and he's spent time with the Browns, Jaguars and Texans. While Gipson doesn't move the needle much in IDP leagues, he'll likely start alongside Eddie Jackson in Chicago. He had 51 tackles (37 solo), three interceptions (one for a TD) and eight passes defensed for Houston last year.
