Bears Defense A Viable Option Against Packers For Week 1
1 year agoThe Chicago Bears defense is looking to bounce back from a disappointing past season, where they struggled to rush the passer and allowed the most points per game. On Sunday, they could be in for a big day against their rivals, the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay's top two receivers, Christian Watson (hamstring) and Romeo Doubs (hamstring) are battling hamstring injuries, and their status for the game is in question. If either of these two misses the game, Jordan Love will throw the ball to a group of rookies and undrafted free agent signings. New additions Yannick Ngakoue and DeMarcus Walker should help Chicago generate a pass rush, while Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards will improve their pass defense. Led by Eddie Jackson, the talented Bears secondary could have the opportunity to use Green Bay's inexperience to their advantage and create takeaways, making Chicago's DST a boom-or-bust option in Week 1.
