Baseball Will Be Played In 2020
4 years agoMajor League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred said that "we will play Major League Baseball this year." The league will make a new proposal to the players union after receiving their 89-game proposal on Tuesday night. The next proposal will be a "significant move in the players' direction," but the league is fully prepared to exercise their right to set a 48-game season if the two sides can't reach an agreement soon. The players' concerns around their health surrounding COVID-19 have basically been resolved, so whether or not there is an agreement will come down to the financials. The players have been adamant about keeping their full prorated salaries for however long the 2020 season is.
