Baker Mayfield Dismal In Loss To Steelers
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield struggled in a 26-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17. Mayfield completed just 16 of 38 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the disappointing loss. The veteran quarterback had an extremely difficult time in the pocket against Pittsburgh as he took a whopping nine sacks while struggling to move the Cleveland offense for much of the evening. Mayfield had four passes deflected at the line of scrimmage in the first half alone in what was easily one of the worst performances of his NFL career. His first touchdown pass was a three-yard toss to David Njoku in the third quarter and he followed that up with a one-yard TD pass to Harrison Bryant in garbage time. Mayfield will finish off the regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18 if Cleveland decides to stick with him under center. As has been the case for much of the second half of the season, he should be nowhere near fantasy lineups for that contest.
