2 years agoNew England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe will start in Sunday's contest against the Detroit Lions. The Patriots placed quarterback Brian Hoyer (concussion) on injured reserve, and starter Mac Jones (ankle) is doubtful to suit up in Week 5. Zappe threw for 99 yards and a touchdown in relief in the Week 4 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Lions' defense has been shredded through the air and ranks 31st in pass DVOA this season. Despite the plus matchup, look for the Patriots to lean heavily on the run game this Sunday, making Zappe an option mainly two quarterback league formats.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
