Bailey Zappe Efficient In Relief Duty In Week 4 Loss To Packers
2 years agoNew England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe completed 10-of-15 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers. With Mac Jones (ankle) ruled out, Brian Hoyer started Sunday's contest versus Green Bay. A head injury knocked Hoyer out of the game early, leaving Zappe as the team's only active quarterback. The 23-year-old was efficient and almost led the Patriots to an upset victory over Green Bay in overtime. He connected with DeVante Parker for a 25-yard touchdown strike in the third quarter to give the Pats a 17-14 lead. New England could be without Jones (ankle) and Hoyer (head) in Week 5 against the Detroit Lions, making Zappe a speculative add in superflex leagues.
