Bailey Ober Strikes Out Seven In First Career Win
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober bounced back in Monday's win over the Chicago White Sox. Ober tossed five shutout innings, allowing three walks and a pair of hits. The 25-year-old struck out seven batters, inducing 13 whiffs on 93 pitches. Ober only threw his slider 11 times but generated five swings and misses on the offering. The Twins let the young hurler loose in this game, as the 93 pitches were a career-high. The effort lowered Ober's season ERA to 4.85 to go along with a 26.2 percent strikeout rate and promising 4.25 xERA and 3.92 SIERA marks. The consistency isn't quite there yet for Ober, making him an unreliable redraft fantasy asset, though he has some sneaky upside in dynasty formats.
